Logo Design Contest

Well, I'm not sure if anyone visits this blog anymore. One of the reasons I've been silent has been work. We've been dang busy designing AC systems! It's hot, people!

Because of the demand for our services, our little company is growing. We're doing a small renovation at our office to fit in a few more engineers. On the way in this morning, I was looking at our incredibly weak logo on the front door. We have a great reputation in the area, but (in my opinion) our logo sucks.

So...all you budding graphic designers out there, I have a job for you. Come up with a new logo for our company and if we decide to use it, we'll give you a $100 gift certificate to Amazon.com. The logo must be simple and look good either in color or black and white.

Please send all designs to mike at rgdengineers dot com. Deadline for submission is September 15, 2006.

It would have to be a "budding" Graphic Designer to do it for $100.

The advice of a fairly seasoned Designer - don't chince on a logo - it is the identity of your company to the outside world. And the one you have does suck, you're right about that.

Logos are huge, and they are expensive. It's not just about it generically "looking good" - does it commmunicate the message of your company? Does it market you well? Etc.

Anyway, just a few thoughts. Peace.

Mike - contact me at dan@danmcgowan.com - and let's talk about you logo... money is not the issue as far as I am concerned... I read somewhere in Acts about how we need to help each other - or something like that... (wink wink)
