"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
Matthew 11:28-30
(taken from The Message, by Eugene Peterson)

If you have found this website, chances are you are seeking something more in your experience of church or in following Jesus. You may or may not be angry at the church or at God for the situation you find yourself in. However, you cannot stop believing that there is more to this thing called Christianity and that there must be others out there that feel the same.

This website and the book "What is Church? A Story of Transition" were created to help seekers as I described above know that you are not alone. There are others 'out there' with similar questions who are also attempting to make their way through the fog. Our agenda is not to sell you on the next Great American Church Model that will fix all of the Church's problems. Instinct might tell us to try and build a better mousetrap. However, we have found that the path forward will not be dominated by experts or entrepreneurs, but by people of no reputation.

The people represented here are not consultants, theologues or pundits. We have simply been living this transition for the past decade and want to offer our collective wisdom and companionship. As you tour the site, hopefully you will understand that this is not an attempt to answer the question "What is Church?" in an academic sense. Rather, the hope is your imagination for new alternatives will be sparked, your love for the whole of God's People enriched and your passion to see more of God's kingdom revealed to the earth fanned into flame.
